13 Rocking Online Portfolios

Wednesday, May 6th, 2009

Freelancer’s portfolio’s are a very much like a mirror. You find that they directly reflect the personality of the freelancer in question. You can tell from the design, the copy, the work displayed within and by how current it is, exactly what makes this freelancer tick. Getting your ‘folio just right takes time and effort, so to help / inspire you, I’ve compiled 20 awesome portfolios into this post. Enjoy!

13 Creative

13 Creative’s site seriously rocks. With a tasty sort of hand made feel to the site, this is one portfolio that deserves the recognition it gets.

45 Royale Inc.

I must say, this has to be my absolute favourite portfolio out there at the moment. The colors. The simplicity. The copy. It all marries together to create a subtle, but high impact design & site. Great!

LogoHolik

Bojan Stefanovic has a very distinct portfolio for his logo & brand design business. An interesting 2 column layout is broken up by module type page sections. Grid design at its best.

Pixelcraft

Pixelcraft’s site has a unique feel to it. The use of black on a subtle green / cream background (I’m color blind :P) creates great contrast. Complete with icons dotted around, this site is playful yet professional.

Darren Hoyt

Darren Hoyt has a strong, typographic layout enveloped around a wordpress install, and the final result is fantastic!

Clear:left

No list of great portfolios would be complete without Clear Left. Such a clean and light design.

Base6  Design

Base 6 Design have just hit the radar with a recent design re-fresh of their site. I must say, I’m very impressed and looking forward to seeing more work from these dudes.

Envira Media

Envira’s site is pretty nifty. A cool effect that sets it apart from most companies of their calibre.

Mike Bailey

In keeping with the spirit of this post, Im trying to showcase some newer / lesser known talent. When I stumbled across Mike Bailey’s site the other, it instantly caught my for use of simple and lightweight design, combined with a natural feeling color palette.

Made by Elephant

Yet another simple, but highly effective design.

Dan Oliver

Cornish web designer, Dan Oliver, has a brilliant site which combines a neutral color palette and lovely trendy squiggle edges :)

Tim Van Damme

If Apple did online business cards / personal homepages…..

Neutron Creations

Another one page portfolio, featuring a clever, multi color cloud effect.

That’s it folks!
