LinkeryCool Doodle by: francescopozzi

Its 2009! I can’t believe it. Sorry for the lack of posts recently guy’s, I have been a bit busy. What with developing my new portfolio and taking a little time off, time for this site has been stolen by other projects. That reminds me, I need to fill you in on a little ebook project I have in the works.

Anyway, back to the topic in hand. Well, not so much a topic, rather a round-up of some rocking links for any freelancer. Enjoy.

Web Designers Success Guide

http://book.airgid.com/

A free ebook offered by Airgid as in an introduction into freelancing for web designers. From making that initial jump to setting your rates and finding clients. Also available as a hard copy. I plan to review this book at some point over the next few weeks.

CopyBlogger

http://www.copyblogger.com/

A great blog for anyone who is into freelancing, not just for copywriters. There’s tips on improving your copy writing skills, with a copy writing 101 and seo copy writing information available. A truly great blog for any freelancers who need to write their own copy from time to time, or for copywriters who are looking to expand their business.

Fuel your Creativity

http://www.fuelyourcreativity.com/

Another brilliant blog for, you guessed it, creatives. With interviews and general articles on creativity and freelancing, every post of this blog is worth its weight (possibly not the best analogy) in gold.

SEO 2.0 Blog

http://seo2.0.onreact.com/

An interesting seo blog.

40 excellent blog designs - Six Revisions

SkellieWag

http://www.skelliewag.org/

As Skellie herself puts it

Skelliewag.org is for current and future movers and shakers of the web: people who understand that content is King, Queen and the entire royal family.

  • Are you fascinated by the unlimited potential of social media?
  • Are you serious about all aspects of blogging?
  • Are you intrigued by the art of creating viral content?
  • Do you believe in the merit of simplicity and usability?
  • Are you looking for rapidfire growth strategies?

If you answered yes to any or all of the above questions, you will find value in this blog.

Thanks Skellie, for creating such an excellent blog - for anyone who’s involved in freelancing or the Internet or even both :O

Freelance Switch

http://www.freelanceswitch.com

I adore freelance switch. The blog posts are regular, and very interesting. I particularly love how they have guest posters - it brings a real edge to their blog, and a different viewpoint. They also have a popular podcast, forums and a job board for picking up gigs. A really interesting blog, I cannot recommend them enough. Get this blog in your RSS now!

Self Marketing for Designers

http://www.marketing-designers.com/

A super duper book. This book really is only for designers, as the title suggests. A tad on the expensive side for a PDF ebook, but still, if your a designer (of the web or offline) then this makes a great investment. The book really does fill you in on the low down, and helps you develop a Unique selling proposition & create a genuine business offer. I’ve followed tips from this book myself. Great stuff!

Todo Application - Things

http://culturedcode.com/things/

Cultured code really do have their thinking caps on. Their latest offering is the wonderful task management application named “Things” for Mac OSX. A good friend of mine told me about things the other day, and after having tried it, I must say I am impressed. The interface is magnificent. So Simple & intuitive to use. This is the least bloated to do app I’ve ever used. Its totally usable. The full app will be released in 4 days time, for the sum of $49.95. Not bad eh? That must be a few months post-it notes.

Rawkes Weekly

http://rawkes.com/blog/2008/12/27/rawkes-weekly-27-december-2008/

My Friend Rob (from Essex  :D) likes to do a weekly round-up of links and interesting info for designers and internet geeks. Rob has a very southern and unique style, and delivers the weeks internet news and general fun in a concise and wonderful manner.

Hope you enjoyed the post folks. The blog will be back to normal posting frequency from now on. Speaking of which, anyone interested in doing some guest posts?

Do you have any links you’d like to share?
